On my time, I decided to hone my flash designing skills and work on something.
I'm a game show junkie. :) One of my favorite shows is the ever-immortal Wheel of Fortune. On a whim, I decided to make the wheel in flash, and see how well I could replicate it. And I'm pretty impressed in the end, to be honest. :)

Unfortunately I don't know a thing about actionscript, and I was going to have it so that you could spin the wheel by rotating it. But I can't do that, I haven't a clue how. :(

So instead, I made it spin by myself. I hope it's enjoyable. :aww:
OH, and be sure to put it on loop.

I remember how the wheel would spin on it's own.

Can you make this type of wheel with values for round two and above?

You know, for what it's worth, prior to Sony buying out the Merv Griffin game shows in 1995, the Wheel actually did spin itself in the opening and closing of the show. :)

Anyway... Come on! Big money! Big money!!! (hits Bankrupt) (SFX: Bankrupt slide whistle) DAMN IT!!! :explosion:

Hello from another huge Wheel fan. My guess is that the producers felt it was no longer necessary to show automation's capabilities, so the Wheel doesn't spin all by itself during opening and closing.

At one point when it did in 1989, once they forgot to stop it from spinning, so it was causing a distraction while Pat was trying to interview a contestant. Finally he shouted, "STOP SPINNING THE CAR!", and they made it stop as the audience was laughing.

I remember that. Damn sony and their non auto spining wheel. I kinda thought that was cool, when I was little.

I love that show! I've been watching it since I was two! The wheel you made is very nice, but, and I don't mean to criticize, why is a Bankrupt covering the blue $700 wedge? It looks strange, but that's why I like it. Overall, good job!

After round one, there are two Bankrupt spaces

Yeah, but (I'm trying not to nag you) as a huge WOF obsess, that second Bankrupt does cover the blue $700 space in round two. It covers the orange $300 near where the $2500 space is. Hey, it's still a great pic!

Hmm, I believe I modelled off of a picture I found of the wheel online. I forget where it is now, but that's how I got my placements. Eh, there's been like a bazillion variations on the wheel, must've picked something old. Oh well, glad you like. :)

What if I was on Wheel of Fortune, made it on to the Bonus Round, looked at the category, "People that annoy you", guessed some letters, U R, G, and P, said "Naggers", got the puzzle right, and won a vacation to Nome, Alaska?
